Onion Braised Chicken
Ingredients:
700g Chicken Boneless Thigh Cut Into Pieces
1 Large Yellow Onion (Diced)
½ Cup Water
1½ Teaspoon Cornflour
Marinade:
1 Tablespoon D’Palate Chicken Powder
½ Teaspoon D'Palate Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon Oyster Sauce
1 Tablespoon Light Soya Sauce
1 Tablespoon Dark Soya Sauce
½ Teaspoon Sesame Oil
½ Tablespoon Sugar
Method:
- Marinade chicken and leave in fridge for at least an hour.
- Heat 2 tablespoon of cooking oil in pot and sauté onion over medium low heat until onion turns translucent.
- Add in chicken pieces and stir fry for 2mins.
- Add water into pot until it just covers the chicken pieces.
- Simmer on low heat for 20mins.
- Season to taste with light soya sauce.
- Mix cornflour with cold water. Drizzle mixture into braised chicken slowly while stirring. Adjust the cornflour to your liking; Add more cornflour mixture if the sauce is not thick enough. Do not mix cornflour directly into the chicken as it will form clumps.
