Onion Braised Chicken

Ingredients:
700g Chicken Boneless Thigh Cut Into Pieces
1 Large Yellow Onion (Diced)
½ Cup Water
1½ Teaspoon Cornflour

Marinade:
1 Tablespoon D’Palate Chicken Powder
½ Teaspoon D'Palate Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon Oyster Sauce
1 Tablespoon Light Soya Sauce
1 Tablespoon Dark Soya Sauce
½ Teaspoon Sesame Oil
½ Tablespoon Sugar

 

Method:

  1. Marinade chicken and leave in fridge for at least an hour.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoon of cooking oil in pot and sauté onion over medium low heat until onion turns translucent.
  3. Add in chicken pieces and stir fry for 2mins.
  4. Add water into pot until it just covers the chicken pieces.
  5. Simmer on low heat for 20mins.
  6. Season to taste with light soya sauce.
  7. Mix cornflour with cold water. Drizzle mixture into braised chicken slowly while stirring. Adjust the cornflour to your liking; Add more cornflour mixture if the sauce is not thick enough. Do not mix cornflour directly into the chicken as it will form clumps.
