Braised Salted Soy Beans Pork Belly

Ingredients:
500g Pork Belly Slices
2 Potatoes (Finely Diced)
1 Cinnamon Stick

Marinade:
1 Teaspoon D’Palate Garlic Powder
⅓ Teaspoon D’Palate Anchovy Powder
5pcs Shallots
1 Tablespoon Salted Soya Beans
1 Tablespoon Oyster Sauce
1 Tablespoon Dark Soya Sauce
1 Teaspoon Palm Sugar

 

Method:

  1. Blend marinade with 2 tablespoon of water until fine in a food processor.
  2. Combine marinade and pork belly and leave in fridge for 1hour or more.
  3. Add marinated pork belly, diced potatoes, cinnamon stick and 200g water into pot.
  4. Simmer on low heat for 1hour or more. (I simmered mine for 2 hours).
  5. Season to taste with fish sauce.

 

Notes: The potatoes will disintegrate and thicken the sauce naturally without having to add flour mixture which is healthier for kids than adding flour to thicken the sauce.
